Always Lost, and Other Poems (Now Free!)

New cover was edited by my good buddy Paul Ferguson. Anyway I've decided to give the eBook away for free as I have many of my poems and stories so far anyway. Consider this an early Halloween gift from me to you all. I also consider this as a test to myself that I could put together at least a small collection.

I have also figured since the eBook is only 31 or so pages that it wouldn't be fair to charge for it.

So for your enjoyment here is a PDF of my first poetry collection feel free to share.

Poem #19: Journey Without End

Here is my final poem for my collection. Hope you all have enjoyed these poems so far. I will be taking a break from poems, and going back to short stories soon. But don't worry I still intend to do more poems as well whenever the mood strikes me. Full book compilation coming soon.

Footsteps fade on winding trails,
A wandering soul that never fails
To seek horizons far and wide,
Yet always feels the pull inside.

Lost in moments, found in dreams,
Flowing like shifting streams.
Seeking answers in the night,
Chasing shadows fading light.

Perhaps the quest is not to find,
But to embrace the endless mind—
A traveler in a restless sea,
Forever searching, eternally free.

Poem #18: A Clear Horizon

In the quiet dawn, I stand anew,
Leaving shadows behind, embracing what's true.
No fog to cloud the mind's bright light,
Just steady steps through day and night.

Sobriety, a gentle breeze,
Washes away the past's disease.
In clarity, I find my way,
A brighter dawn, a brand new day.

Strength in choice, a steady flame,
Free from chains, I claim my name.
With each breath, I grow more whole—
A sober heart, a fearless soul.

Poem #17: Shattered Hearts, and Broken Pieces

Feeling numb,
Leaving breadcrumbs behind,
A trail through memories,
That time can't unwind.

Shattered hearts, and broken pieces,
All hope slowly decreases,
Lost in shadows of what used to be,
A silent cry, a fading plea.

Poem #16: Cemetery Nights

Walking the cemetery at night,

Hope there aren't any fights.

Ghosts whispering in my ears,

Brings on unwanted tears.

An eerie calm,

While reading a psalm.

Cold wind blows,

The only feeling I know.

Cemetery Nights.

Poem #15: Cosmic Darkness

In the vast, unending velvet sea,
Where stars are born and dreams run free,
Lies a shadow deep and profound,
A silent scream without a sound.

Black holes whisper in the night,
Eternal voids of endless might,
Swallowing light with hungry grace,
Holding secrets of time and space.

Their edges twist with gravity’s pull,
A cosmic dance so dark and full,
Where matter bends and stars decay,
Lost in the abyss, far away.

Yet in this darkness, mysteries gleam,
A universe’s secret dream,
The heart of darkness, silent, deep,
Where cosmic secrets lie asleep.

In black holes’ depths, the unknown calls,
A gateway beyond the cosmic walls,
Inviting us to ponder, explore,
The endless dark, forevermore.

Poem 14: Are You There God? I Doubt It...

There was a time when I used to pray,

But he never heard a word I said.

Are you there God? I would ask...

But I would still never be able to complete my task.

Are you there god?

I doubt it...

Poem #13: Whispers In The Void

In the silent vastness, I stand alone,
A fleeting spark in worlds unknown,
Questions echo, relentless, deep—
Why do I wake, and why do I sleep?

The universe, endless and cold,
Its secrets hidden, tales untold,
A cosmic joke, a distant stare,
A void that whispers, "Are you aware?"

Time slips away like grains of sand,
Lost in the grasp of an unseen hand,
Existence fragile, thin as air—
A fleeting breath, a fleeting prayer.

Dread drips heavy, a silent tide,
A lingering fear we cannot hide,
Yet in this darkness, faintly gleams—
The fragile hope of broken dreams.

Writing progress

Probably seven more Poems to go for the short collection to be finished.

Once those are done I think I will go back to writing short stories as they seem like more fun to me.

Poem #12: Halloween

Halloween is my favorite holiday,
You get to pretend you're someone else, hooray!
Free chocolates and candies from strangers,
No need to worry about dangers.

Scary movies fill your nights,
With lots of fun and spooky frights.

Halloween!

Poem #11: Ravens, and Black Withered Roses

Ravens fly in the dark grey sky,

Black withered roses,

People snub there noses.

Grey skies, and gloomy days,

Graves covered the ground in different ways.

Remember the Ravens.

Poem #10: Don't Smile

So many fake smiles,

People pretending to be happy.

There is nothing to be happy about,

But yet they still don't pout.

They pretend to laugh, and be alright,

But most people all they seem to do is fight.

It's okay not to be happy all the time,

But hey—at least this is a rhyme.

Don't Smile.

Poem #9: Mental Gridlock

Sometimes I try to write,

It's hard to find the words to recite.

The blank page taunts me,

Even when I try to plead.

A mental gridlock,

A writer's block.

Blocked.

Poem #8: Time and Space

Sometimes the days go fast,

Other times they don't seem to last.

Sometimes I wonder if stars in the sky,

Worry about the day they will die.

Poem #7: A Silent Reflection

Silence,

Quiet,

Peaceful,

No chaos,

No disasters,

No chatter chatter of mindless thinking.

Silence.

Writing update: Jade's Ghost Story (Horror) First Page Teaser

I have finished a short ghost story, that will be a bonus story at the end of my poetry collection. I've called it Jade's Ghost Story. This was a story I had written back in 2009, but I had lost the original document, so I have re-written it from memory.

Here is the first page teaser:

Jade’s Ghost Story By P.C. Snider - First Page teaser

Jade Price was driving her Toyota Corolla, in the middle of a blizzard that came out of nowhere. She is with her boyfriend Sam. They are stuck right behind a big snow plow on the highway of all places.

Her and her boyfriend Sam are currently having an argument about the situation.

“I told you we should have stayed home.” Sam said, while engulfing a cheeseburger and fries that they managed to get before the blizzard started.

“I know, I know. You’ve said that countless times now.” Jade snapped back.

“Why do we have to go visit your parents anyway? You know they don’t like me.” Sam scoffed at the thought of seeing them again.

“They wanna make sure that you are still a good match for me I guess.” She responded not angry.

“No pressure.” He sighed.

Poem #6: Your Voice

Your voice soothes my weary soul,

Makes me forget my heart is like a coal.

Your haunting songs sometimes make me shiver,

Yet other times, they make cry a whole river.

I still listen to your songs each day,

Dreaming of the moment I will see you again someday.

Poem #5: Ghosted

I give you my number, I wait for your call.

I try to make plans, but they mean nothing at all.

Let's go get a Coffee, it will be swell,

But on my phone, no response at all.

Ghosted.

Poem #4: Black Coffee Blues

Black Coffee Blues,

Got nothing left to lose.

Black Coffee Blues,

It feels like abuse.

Black Coffee Blues,

Always seems like bad news.

Black Coffee Blues,

I have lost my shoes.

Black Coffee Blues.

Poem #3: The Comedian

He will always try to make you laugh,

Tell you jokes, along with your staff.

He will say, “Stay Positive.” All is well,

Even when, the whole world is going to hell.

He will still tell jokes to his very best,

So that eventually he will be able to rest.

When the show is over he will laugh too,

Ha Ha Ha Ha—Just for you.

First Poetry Collection Teaser Cover

Here is a teaser cover for my first poetry collection, coming soon. I might put a bonus short story at the end, that isn't on this blog.

I'll most likely be self-publishing this. Looking at various options.

No eta/deadline, as of yet. Whenever I get around 20 or so poems done.

I took this photo myself.

Poem #2: An Ode To Dreams

In my dreams, I am not in pain,

In my dreams, hopes are not in vain.

In my dreams, I am a hero,

In my dreams, I am not a zero.

In my dreams, all is well,

In my dreams, no negative thoughts dwell.

In my dreams, no worries, at all,

In my dreams, I do not fall.

In my dreams, I still feel alive,

In my dreams, I will thrive.

In my dreams, I will never die,

In my dreams, I will never have to say goodbye.

In my dreams...

Poem #1: Always Lost

Even though I know where I am,

A peculiar feeling washes over me.

I don't really know where I am.

Blog Update, and Writing Progress

I have finished my Mystery Short Story I was working on, I had thought it might turn into a full book, but I am not at the point of writing a full book yet.

Instead of posting the Short Story immediately to my Blog as usual, I have submitted it to Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine. There is about a 3 month response turn around time apparently. (Don't got my hopes up. But see what happens).

Since, I am not at the point of writing a full book yet, I have figured out a possible solution in the meantime which I am excited to try.

I am going to start writing Poetry/Poems. I'll post the Poems here, as I write them. Once I have quite a few I will make a Poetry Collection Book / Books. Most likely Self-Publish these.

I'm thinking 20 Poems for the first collection, and go from there.

Anyway, I hope you all like this idea, as I would like my photo on a back of a Book of something in the near future. I think Poetry Collections is the way for me to go for now. With the odd Short Story once in awhile.

I don't have any Poems written as of yet. But I will try get some done this week after working hours and on the weekend.

That's all for now,

A Zombie Christmas (Horror)

I somehow had forgotten that I had a short story actually published in a book anthology back in 2009. I had made a whopping $30.00 I believe, and I received a free copy of the book. Which was pretty cool.

A Zombie Christmas Short Story (10/26/2009) Published in Christmas Is Dead: A Zombie Anthology edited by and written by Anthony Giangregorio Cover Art Amazon.

I did not publish this book or write the whole book. It was published by Living Dead Press by Anthony Giangregorio. Only my short story was included in it among with other authors. With stories from Scott Baker, Rob Rosen, Rick Moore, Keith Luethke, Anthony Giangregorio, Peter Naggi, Tom Hamilton, Marc Wiggins, Lance Looper, Sean Grigsby, Kevin Cockle, Kelly Hudson, Paul Snider (Me), Val Muller, Jack Burton and David Bernstein.

I have added this to My Writing section. This book is still available by the looks of things. Once you click on the Amazon Link click on Other New, and click on Paperback.

Note: I won't receive anything money wise from this. As it was published through Living Dead Press. Which apparently is no longer operating for some reason.

Anywho, I still own the copyright now to my short story. So I may post it here closer to Halloween/Christmas, Depending. But for now. You can still order the Out of Print version on Amazon. I am guessing it's Out of Print. Since Living Dead Press doesn't seem to exist now.

As for my book I was writing, I am finding it a bit difficult to do a full length book at this time. So I think I will continue writing short stories for the time being when the mood calls for it. I consider myself a short story writer in general anyway as they seem to be easier for me.

Currently I am working on a Mystery story. I am hoping to submit somewhere to see how it goes.

That's all for this update for now.

Sincerely,

~P.C. Snider
