Spooky Poems For Spooky Souls (Now Available) (Free!)

I am happy to announce the completion of another poem collection.

Spooky Poems For Spooky Souls is now available for free. I've kept it nice and short at only 10 poems for now. I might take another small break from writing to take some time to brainstorm another collection idea. We will see.

Poem #10 S.P.F.S.S.: The Ghost's Last Poem

This will be the last poem for my collection Spooky Poems For Spooky Souls. Keep an eye out for the release next weekend. I will be taking another break from writing for a bit again.

I have been floating around this house for so long,

Haunting, and scaring, and singing a spooky song.

But I'm tired, and weary, of doing the same thing,

It seems I am no longer, a ghostly king.

So here’s my farewell, with a ghostly grin,

I’ll drift into shadows, let the living win.

Don’t be too scared—just a spooky jest,

I was frightening once, now I get some rest.

Poem #9 S.P.F.S.S.: The Ghost Who Forgot His Chains

A ghost who loved to rattle and roar,

Forgot his chains at the door.

He floated around,Without a sound,

And scared himself even more!

Poem #8 S.P.F.S.S.: The Ghost's Clumsy Spell

A ghost tried to cast a spell,

To scare everyone well.

But he tripped on his sheet,

Fell flat on his feet,

And scared himself—oh what a spell!

Poem #7 S.P.F.S.S.: The Ghost’s Karaoke Night

At a ghostly karaoke bar,

A spirit sang near and far.

His voice was so spooky,

It made folks look kooky,

And he vanished before the last bar!

Poem #6 S.P.F.S.S.: The Sleepy Ghost

There once was a ghost named Lou,

Who loved to scare but hated to boo.

He’d yawn and he’d snore,

Till he couldn’t scare anymore,

Now he just naps and says, “Boo-Hoo!”

Poem #5 S.P.F.S.S.: The Ghost Who Loved To Boogie

In a haunted house on a spooky night

A ghost was dancing in the pale moonlight.

He twirled and spun with a spooky grin,

Even ghosts like to boogie and spin!

No chains or screams, just a funky dance,

Even ghosts need a groove and a chance.

So if you see a ghost doing the jig,

Join in and dance, it’s a ghostly gig!

Poem #4 S.P.F.S.S.: Just Another Lazy Ghost

Most ghosts like to haunt, and scare,

But this peculiar ghost, doesn't have a care.

He always took it easy to not have much stress,

That way life wouldn't be such a mess.

He just floats along at his own pace,

In hopes that no one will see his face.

Just Another Lazy Ghost,

Looking for the right host.

Poem #3 S.P.F.S.S.: The Haunted Lighthouse

In a lighthouse where the ghosts all dwell,

They guard the rocks and ring the bell.

One phantom sighs, “It’s quite the view,”

While floating past a crew of goo.

The lantern flickers, spirits cheer,

“We haunt with joy, no need to fear!”

But when a sailor trips and yells,

They laugh so loud they break their spells.

Poem #2 S.P.F.S.S.: Boo Guy

"Boo Guy,” the ghost says on repeat.

As he thinks it’s kinda neat.

To be as friendly of a ghost he can be,

Just so that he can try to see.

If he can finally be as scary as the other ghosts he knows,

But as he tries “Boo Guy,” just seems to flow.

He will continue to keep trying,

As there is nothing else to do besides sighing.

“Boo Guy,” one more time,

Until it’s the end of the rhyme.

Poem #1 S.P.F.S.S.: The Grip of Darkness

Here is the first poem for my next collection. Called The Grip of Darkness.

Shadows slither along the cold, cracked wall,

Whispering secrets that threaten to fall.

No matter how fiercely we fight or pray,

They linger in darkness, never going away.

Their hope is eternal, their grip is tight,

Haunting our souls in the dead of night.

Poem #18 T.U.P.: No Worries

No worries, people seem to say,

But that's all I seem to do, day after day.

No worries, I hear all the time,

As I try to come up with another rhyme.

No worries, yet again,

But where do I even begin?

No worries, I guess I'll have to get used to people saying,

I guess hey, it beats praying.

Poem #17 T.U.P.: Better Luck Next Time

Every now, and then I'll play the lotto,

Every single time, I get the same answer,

Better Luck Next Time.

I play again, hope for the best,

So that I'll be able to get some rest.

But still the same answer,

Better Luck Next Time.

Perhaps the next one will be a winner,

Then I'll get a nice fancy dinner,

But still the same answer,

Better Luck Next Time.

I'll still keep playing every now, and then,

So that perhaps I'll be happy when,

The answer isn't,

Better Luck Next Time.

Poem #16 T.U.P.: Just Another Day

Just another day,

Eat, work, then too tired to play.

Just another day,

Trying to find the right words to say.

Just another day.

Poem #15 T.U.P.: Calm, But Cool

Calm, but cool,

Feeling free, no longer in school.

No more rules,  no more fuss,

Just peace and quiet, just because.

Calm, but cool,

Living life by my own rule.

Bright days ahead, skies so blue,

Calm, but always cool.

Poem #14 T.U.P.: Your Daydream, My Bad Dream

Your daydreams, all positive, and light,

While mine, are as dark, as the night.

Your daydreams, fun with delight,

While mine, are filled with fright.

Your daydream, my bad dream,

Still I hope things are not as bad as they seem.

Poem #13 T.U.P.: Penmonkey Blues

Penmonkey Blues,

I have every excuse.

To not do any writing today,

For there are no words left to say.

Penmonkey Blues,

My brain has blown it's fuse.

So many other things I could do,

Than spend my time writing for you.

Penmonkey Blues,

So many different views.

But still I do,

My writing for you.

Poem #12 T.U.P.: The Coffee Is Empty, and So Is My Heart

The Coffee is empty,

and so is my heart.

The Coffee is bitter,

and, I am still not a quitter.

Even though I've lost my spark.

The Coffee is dark,

Don't worry I won't bark.

The Coffee is empty,

and so is my heart.

But I'll keep moving forward,

Even though I'm falling apart.

Poem #11 T.U.P.: An Ode to Saturday Morning Cartoons

Beetlejuice does his pranks,

The Ninja Turtles fight.

Hong Kong Phooey stops criminals robbing banks,

Mighty Mouse tests all of his might.

Inspector Gadget, Looney Tunes as well,

At least I might as well have fun,

Still living in hell.

Scooby-Doo and the gang, solving every clue,

The Real Ghostbusters, chasing ghosts, to save me, and you!

Saturday Morning Cartoons, I'd like to thank you,

For all the fun, happy times, that I hope are still true.

The songs and memories, will never fade,

Even when I turn old, and grey.
